AC tune-ups make the most sense in spring, before the first hot stretch. Furnace tune-ups make sense in fall, before the first cold snap.
Does regular maintenance actually prevent breakdowns?
It catches most of what turns into an emergency call — a failing capacitor, a clogged drain line, a cracking belt — while it's still a cheap fix.
